To inform my research & teaching, I draw on a variety of experiences outside academia. I was the manager of a purposeful travel leadership development program, a TEDx organizing team member, and the fundraising coordinator for a nonprofit.
As a professional development coach, I advised small business owners on their brand’s communication strategy and worked with individuals on skills such as presentation design & public speaking. As a speaker, I delivered workshops on topics such as cultural sensitivity in business and creative communication.

With a focus on marketing, I helped organize TEDx events aimed at sharing "ideas worth spreading" while brining the local community together.
I collaborated on auditioning and coaching speakers, working with the local media, business partners, volunteers, and vendors. I got the audience engaged while MC-ing the "Disrupt" Salon.

TEDxChico Salon - Disrupt
TEDxChico Salon will couple TED Talks with speakers from Butte county shaking things up locally and around the world.

As the development coordinator, I designed content for the website, print marketing, and social media. I supervised a group of interns and coordinated fundraising - meeting with prospective donors, writing letters of inquiry for foundations, and helping organize community events.
