In this research study published in the Journal of Financial Education, our team investigated why Millennials are hesitant to seek help to improve their financial wellbeing. We conducted a study to demonstrate how their personal characteristics relate to this hesitancy. We provide recommendations for how organizations can help financial information seekers.

Abstract: Results suggest that financial stress alone is insufficient for students to act; their gender, self-efficacy, issue involvement, subjective knowledge, and grit associate with hesitancy to seek help with finances. Study provides suggestions regarding how universities and employers can help Millennials advance their financial well-being, and in turn enjoy the rewards of a healthier student body or workforce.
